Lithuanian central government's 2012 deficit stands at 3 percent of GDP

The Lithuanian central government's deficit in 2012 totaled 3.426 billion litas (EUR 0.993b), accounting for 3 percent of last year’s gross domestic product (GDP), data from the Finance Ministry shows.

In 2011, the deficit made up 4.8 percent of GDP.

In December alone, the sector recorded a deficit of 635.3 million litas, or 0.6 percent of GDP.

The central government sector’s revenues for full 2012 totaled 32.359 billion litas. Expenditures amounted to 34.053 billion litas, and transactions in non-financial assets, to 1.732 billion litas.

In December, revenues came to 3.319 billion litas, expenditures, to 3.496 billion litas, and transactions in non-financial assets, to 458.1 million litas.
