Lithuanian Parliament votes down dismissal of Special Investigation Service chief

Lithuania's parliament rejected the president's proposal to dismiss Žimantas Pacevičius from director of the Special Investigation Service at the end of his term in office.

In a secret ballot on Tuesday, the bid was supported by 38 of Lithuania's 141 lawmakers, while 27 were against and 18 abstained.

Before the final vote, Pacevičius asked the parliament to sack him from office.
