The million-dollar question – does Lithuania already need a lockdown? Or perhaps the elections prevent it?

Coronavirus infection rates have reached record highs in Lithuania, we have several hotspots that flared suddenly and the number of untraceable infections is on the rise. However, the government is avoiding the word “lockdown”, only promising major restrictions only if the number of severe cases was to rise. Is such a strategy justified? Perhaps the goal is just to not irk the public during the lead up to the Seimas elections?
