The president’s role in approving ministers: a new format implemented by G. Nausėda and lessons not learnt

President Gitanas Nausėda pledged to actively engage with the forming of the ministerial cabinet. This process has already begun, the nominees are visiting the presidential palace one by one, answering questions, listening to compliments and reprimands, have an opportunity to get to know the head of state and his vision of change. Is this how G. Nausėda’s active engagement manifests? Or perhaps there are more initiatives behind closed doors? Perhaps the president also presented a wish list of vice-ministers?
