"May this painful loss and respect for the memory of the deceased inspire to continue the Lithuanian World Community's mission to foster Lithuanian culture and love for their country," the minister said in his message of condolence to the family, relatives and all like-minds of the deceased.
According to the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sungaila was chairming the Lithuanian World Community in 1961-1963 and was an active member of the Lithuanian community in Canada.
