"If we have an exam to check how people know the Constitution, a national dictation exam, a calligraphy exam, why can't we have an exam on health? It will not be an exam on medicine but on health, with questions relevant to everyone of us," Vice-Minister of Health Audrius Klišonis said.

The exam will be held online. Participants can register online from 9 AM on Friday until 12 AM on Saturday and take a 40-minute test. One person is allowed to take the exam only once: one exam per – one IP address.

Winners will be according to the number of correct answers and the time. People who will have answered the questions quicker, will be given higher score.

The main prize, established by the Center for Communicable Diseases and AIDS, is a trip to Stockholm to visit the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

"It will not be only an examination of people's health knowledge. The exam will encourage them to take interest in their health, help fight stereotypes and find science-based answers to the most burning health issues," Saulius Čaplinskas, head of the Center for Communicable Diseases and AIDS, said.

The date of the national health exam was chosen for it to coincide with the World Health Day which is marked on Saturday, 7 April.
