Lithuanian start-up Bankera recognised with Fintech for Business Impact of the Year award

In the award ceremony of the Fintech Week Lithuania event, the Lithuanian fintech start-up Bankera was recognised with the Fintech for Business Impact of the Year award. Bankera received the award for displaying the largest solidarity in the face of COVID-19, with its innovative small and medium-sized enterprise solution contributing to implementing goals for a sustainable future in the business community.

“Being a Lithuanian fintech company and offering digital finance services, we primarily aim to create value for Lithuania’s economy, and we celebrate the fact that Bankera’s solutions receive recognition not only on the international but also on the Lithuanian stage. We are finalising the development of our solution and will begin offering financing services to small and medium-sized enterprises in the near future. We believe that businesses will value the advantages of our digital solutions, such as affordable pricing, speed and flexibility. Through our services, we hope to contribute not only to the promotion of Lithuania as a fintech country but also greater competition on the financial services market,” Bankera co-founder Vytautas Karalevičius says.

At the end of April in a hackathon initiated by the European Commission, the solution created by Bankera team aimed at short term financing of small and medium-sized enterprises was recognised as the best in the Digital Finance category. Bankera was the only team from Lithuania to earn one of the six main European Commission hackathon awards.

Held on June 15-18, virtual financial technology conference Fintech Week Lithuania was topped off by the Lithuanian fintech awards, in which ten industry leaders were awarded following evaluation and selection by a specially formed international expert commission.

The virtual Fintech Week Lithuania conference was held on June 15-18 by the Ministry of Economics and Innovation; Ministry of Finance; the Science, Innovation and Technology Agency (MITA); the financial technology and sustainable innovation centre ROCKIT; Fintech Lithuania and Fintech Hub LT.

Bankera is an ecosystem that brings fintech companies together and was launched several years ago by three businessmen from Lithuania: Vytautas Karalevičius, Mantas Mockevičius and Justas Dobiliauskas. Bankera currently provides payment services focused on accessibility, cost-effectiveness, and speed for online businesses and entrepreneurs around the globe. Bankera’s services include business accounts, SEPA and SWIFT payments, as well as card acquiring with multi-currency support.
