2.5 million eligible voters in Lithuania

Over 2.5 million people will have the right to vote in the upcoming Seimas elections in Lithuania.

There are 2,569,497 Lithuanian citizens on the preliminary list of voters, the country's Central Electoral Commission informed BNS on Monday.

Compared to the last municipal elections in 2011, the electorate shrank by 68,236 people. And in comparison with the last Seimas elections in 2008, the number of voters dropped by 126,593.

17 political parties, one four-party coalition – almost 2,000 candidates in total – will run for parliament on 14 October.
