Lithuania's Economy Minister sees no conflict of private-public interests in her actions and plans to stay on

Lithuania's Economy Minister Birutė Vėsaitė says she did not get into a conflict of private and public interests by flying to a business forum in Kazakhstan on an eight-seat business-class airplane chartered by Arvi company.

"We bought a service, the ministry bought a service, to be exact, and members of the official delegation flew together to attend a bilateral meeting of an intergovernmental commission and I definitely think that there was no conflict of interests. Especially since we didn't overpay," the minister told journalists in comment of accusations levied against her.

After landing at Vilnius International Airport on Thursday evening, Vėsaitė said she had no intentions of stepping down.
