Lithuanian government agrees to set up Economic Diplomacy Council

Lithuania's government on Thursday gave a green light to the Foreign Ministry's suggestion to set up an Economic Diplomacy Council, which would address issues relating to economic diplomacy.

"The council would contribute to enhancing positions of economic diplomacy by implementing the country's economic policies abroad and defending Lithuania's business interests," the Foreign Ministry said.

The council will consist of representatives of the Foreign Ministry, the Economy Ministry, the Agriculture Ministry, the Lithuanian Industrialist Confederation, the Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, the Lithuanian Business Confederation, the Lithuanian Business Employers Confederation, and the association Investors' Forum.
